LuongTa Chanhphy Manivong's 72nd Birth anniversary
at the Buddhist Discussion Centre (Upwey) Ltd on 21 March 1993
LuongTa Chanhphy Manivong celebrated his 72nd birth anniversary at the Buddhist Discussion Centre (Upwey) Ltd on 21 March 1993. To celebrate the position of our sandstone Dharma Wheel was moved from its former site to a new position between the flag poles carrying the Australian flag and the Buddhist flag.
The re-installation makes it immediately visible from entry through the main southern gate.The re-installation was done with the Blessing of LuongTa and co-incided with the completion of the translation of his Dhamma Book. A long life and health puja was conducted for this Great Monk.LuongTa revisited the Centre on the 18 April 1993 and undertook 4 days Meditation to prepare a mandala for our Teacher John D Hughes.To retain the Blessing arising from this mandala, John D Hughes will undertake 3 day retreats, 3 times a year for the next 6 years.Members of this Centre are grateful to LuongTa for the Blessings of this mandala and the practice that may enable the students to meet their Teacher again and again.May his great book " The Way you are looking for - A Manual of Insight Meditation " be distributed around the world for the benefit of the Teachable beings.
