Happiness, Suffering and Freedom –

Hạnh phúc, Sung Sướng và đau khổ –

ทุกข์ สมุทัย นิโรธ –

มีทุกข์, หาทางออกจากทุกข์ได้หมดแล้ว, เป็นผู้หมดทุกข์

All happiness, suffering and freedom are from the action of the 32 parts of human body. By the law of nature all of them are impermanent.

Of all Human body, actions are from mind. Wisdom realizes the truth or the righteousness. The truth or the righteousness start the action. Whatever good deed you have done, you will get happiness. On the other hand whatever bad deed you have done, you will suffer the painful.

A human body has 32 true conditions. When these 32 conditions are combined, it is called Sankhara - body formation. If these 32 conditions are separated from one another, it will be no longer classified as Sankhara (body formation). These are:-

  1. Kesa – Hair on the head
  2. Loma – Hair on the body
  3. Nakha – Nails
  4. Danca – Teeth
  5. Taco – Skin

‘Evamayo Mekayo' – so this is our body from head to toe;

‘Tacapariyanto' the body is wrapped in skin ;

‘Bulona Nappakalat Sa-Asucino' every single part in our body is unclean.

These 32 parts when combined with the Five Dhatu – 1. Pathavi Dhatu 2. Apo Dhatu 2. Tejo Dhatu, 3. Vayo Dhatu, 4. Akasa Dhatu 5. Vinyana Dhatu (Five elements – Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, Air and Consciousness elements) is, what we called, a living human being according to its true conditions, or it is Dharma Rupa and Dharma Nama?.

This investigation is carried out according to the (‘Panca Khandho – Five Groups of Existence). The Five Groups of Existence can be abbreviated into Rupa and Nama. Rupa Khandho is Rupa, the rest of the 4 Khandho is Nama-Rupa. On the other hand, it could be classified as the 4 Paramattha Dharma: Vinyana Khandho is Citta, Vedhana Khandho, Sanya Khandho and Sankhara Khandho are Cetasika. Rupa (corporality) is all the factors forming to be the Rupa Dharma.

Sankhara and all its behaviours including its properties and energy are Vedana (feeling or sensation) describing the conditions of Sukha Vedhana, Dukkha Vedhana, Upekha Vedana ( being happy or sad or indifferent ) for particular object including its characters.

Vinyana ( consciousness) is the state of knowing clearly the 5 Indhyra which include Cakkusu Vinyana, Sota Vinyana , Ghana Vinyana, Jivha Vinyana, Kaya Vinyana and Mano Vinyana ( Eye consciousness, Ear consciousness, Nose consciousness, Tongue consciousness, Body consciousness and Mind consciousness).

These are the factors forming our Sankhara. When we separate each factor from the whole body one by one, we will see that there is no body or no self. It is not me. It is not you either. It is an ‘Emptiness'. It is ‘Anatta' or Dharma Anatta. Sankhara (formation) has three main properties:-

  1. Kaya Sankhara – Body formation – Thân xác của con Người
  2. Vaci Sankhara – Verbal formations; – Lời nói và cử chỉ của con Người
  3. Citta Sankhara – Mental formation – Trí Tuệ và tâm linh
The Sankhara is conditioned by the Sanya and Vedana. Intention, volition or determination condition in the Citta to be good, bad or equanimity. It is also the source of karma. Properties such as Saddha (Faith, Confidence), Sati (Awareness), Metta (Loving Kindness), Karuna (Compassion), Mudhita (Sympathy), Upekkha (Equanimity), Panya (Wisdom), Moha (Delusion), Lobha (Greed), Mana Ditthi (Errorneous Opinion), Macchariya (Selfishness), Iccha (Envy) are ingredients of volition and karma.

The Lord Buddha taught us to investigate in detail the factors forming a being ‘Kaya Sankhara' so that to avoid being misled by an delusion.

Finally the function of 32 parts of human body must work together. I just bring some word in Pali saying – ATTA HI ATTANO NATHO

  1. Mind loves Life
  2. Life loves Body
  3. In the other way round the Body also loves Life

What are the differences among the afore mentioned items? If you wish to know, the Pali will show you.

The Body loves Life. It is quite clear and easy for you to understand. To love life by body means to do a lot of good things for yourself such as good work, good mind, good money, good life, good future. When your body loves life, you will get happiness in your future, never end.

If Body does not love Life, you do a lot of things bad. The bad things will come or we can call this is the suffering that comes along with you, never end. You will be sad and have no future. You get drunk with so many bad things you do.

You tell yourself that it doesn't matter. But when you die, it is too late. No one can help you.

The word for this in the pali language is “ATTA HI ATTANO NATHO”. This means: you develop by yourself, no one can help you.

Mind loves Life. Why?

Because it is my life, it is not other lives. If you lose your mind, when bad things happen to you, you might kill yourself.

Life loves Body. Why?

Because they are my hands, my legs, my ears or my heart. I have 32 parts in my body .I love them, look after them and take care of them.

If I forget some of them, I don't look after them. I will face some problems.

I would like to make you clearer. When it is time to eat, but you don't eat. You have stomach problem. Time to sleep, but you don't sleep, you have problems as well.

If you don't look after your body, the body doesn't love you. You have sufferings coming along with you. Sufferings never come to an end. The pali word saying for this is “Dhukkhang”. All of words I would like to leave with you. W hatever you feel good or bad. Please enjoy by your self Thanks you.
