Dharma Talk in Bangkok – My day

Dharma arose up at mid night of 12 December 2006 which was the end of this passing year and the beginning of next coming year. In lunar calendar it was seventh of the first waning moon. We should take this day to consider and review what we did in the past twelve months and what lessons we learnt from our lives. To keep going on our lives in the beginning of the next coming year shall be as per the following.

LuongTa hope that the aforementioned dharma question is useful and should be kept as record to whom has strong believing in Buddhist religion and would like to bring this to apply to their lives to live with peacefulness

The wording of “Sankhara has 32” means 32 part of human body living in human being world.

The wording of “Universe has 35” means there are five worlds which are Phromma world, Dheva world, Naga world, Yomma world (hell) and Human being world. The next part is triple gem which are the Buddha, the Buddha teachings and the Sangkha (monks).

The wording of “Year has 12” means there are 12 months in a year. When the existing year comes to an end the next coming year starts. It is repeatedly in this human being world.

LuongTa would like specifically to discuss about human life. According to human culture it is clearly defined that there are father day, mother day, master day, valentine day and even Buddhist holy day. But my day is still missing.

Please do not understand that LuongTa would like to teach you. But if it is possible, we should take one day which is the last day of that passing year up to the first day of the next coming year to consider and review what we did before in our lives.

In this day if possible, please clean up your body tidily before entering to Buddha place and then respect to the Buddha, dharma and Sangha. It would be better if you can stop eating food whole day. If you can not do, please take your breakfast only. Your food should be vegetable and fruit. After respecting the triple gems, please calm down your mind, recall what you did from the beginning of this passing year until present. What goodness or badness do you do in your life? What happiness or suffering do you do in your life? What prosperities or declines do you do in your life? What benefits or declines do you do for Buddhism? Do you respect or disgrace the Buddha teaching? Do you respect or disgrace the Sangha? Do you worship your parents or make them in trouble? Do you give kindness to all beings or destroy their lives? Do you support to your brother/sister or ignore?

According to the aforementioned questions if what we did in this passing year are in badness direction, we should wish all bad deed to leave with this passing year. But if what we did in this passing year are in prosperous way to Buddhism, parents, teacher , all beings and our lives, we should wish all good deed to keep going on as our perpetual habits before entering to the next coming year. We should set up our mind how we continue our lives in the next coming year. After that we should praise our lord Buddha as following.

Ar-ra-hang Sam-ma Sam-Buddho Bhak-Kha-va

Bud-dhang Bha-Kha-van-dhang Ar-bhi-va-dhe-mi

Sa-va-kha-dho Bha-Kha-va-ta Dham-mo

Dham-mang Na-mas-sa-mi

Su-pa-ti-pan-no Bha-kha-va-dho Sa-va-kha-sang-co

Sang-khang Na-ma-mi

U-kha-sa Van-dha-mi Bhan-dhe Je-ti-yang

U-kha-sa Van-dha-mi Bhan-dhe Sap-phang

Ar-bha-ra-phang Kha-ma-dha-may Bhan-dhe

After finishing the Buddha's praising we should continue vowing the following;

I would like to dedicate all merits of praising the Budhha, Dharma and Sangha to all existing beings which are parents, master, karma creditors and even all animals to be end up of all suffering within this passing year. All happiness, prosperity, kindness shall be existed as our perpetual habits of the forthcoming year. Anu-mo-dha-mi.

Ar-hang Su-khi-dho Ho-mi

Ar-hang Ar-ve-ro Ho-mi

Ar-hang Ap-pha-ya Pat-sho Ho-mi

Ar-hang Ar-ni-kho Ho-mi

Ar-hang Su-khi At-ta-nang

Pa-ri-ha Run-dhu Su-khi Su-khi

That is the way we understand what we do in this passing year and keep going on our lives in the next coming year. That is the gift LuongTa kindly bring from the Lord Buddha Dharma teaching to all Buddhist followers including daughter, son, any couples and other beings to be happy, prosperous now and forever. Sathu Anumothami.
